What alterations can be made to suits, dresses or trousers?

Our alterations cover a wide range of services including re-hemming and zip repairs.

What length of time do suit, dress or trouser alterations take?

All alterations take a minimum of 48 hours. If a job is particularly difficult or large it may take a little bit longer – we will always be in touch with you if we need more time.

Can alterations be undone?

They can only be taken out if the alterations did not involve cutting the fabric thereby making the item smaller.

 

Can garment alterations be made to leather jackets?

Yes – our skilled and experienced leather alteration specialists has the ability to replace panels and use specialised techniques to restore your leather garment to its original condition.

Can alterations be made to jeans?

Yes – There are a range of alterations that can be made to jeans. Shortening (hemming jeans) is generally the easiest alteration you can make to denim, tapering the legs of jeans to make them slimmer is also a relatively straightforward alteration. An experienced tailor can alter a waistband. However, it’s not advisable to take in jeans by more than one to 1.5 inches at the waist.

Can clothes alterations make a dress bigger, smaller, longer or shorter

Yes, several alterations can be made to dresses including shortening sleeves, shortening and lengthening hems, and taking in the body.

When should I schedule alterations for my wedding dress?

Six weeks before the wedding date to allow time for the alteration and then any revisions.
